This program allows qualified international students and young workers from certain countries temporarily reside and work in Canada while they educate themselves in new skills and gain experience in Canadian culture. This program's requirements differ depending on the country and are manage by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The applications do take priority depending on who submits their applications first and some programs do only have a certain amount of spaces annually as well.

There are certain rules for the working holiday visa which only allow certain types of employment and employers for the applicant. If approved, the applicant may temporarily work enough to cover their travel expenses while visiting Canada.

To be eligible for a working holiday visa, applicants must:

• While applying must be between the ages of 18-35.
• >Be able to provide financial support for oneself during their visit to Canada.
• Have no criminal record or serious medical illness and for some be a full-time student.
• Have a valid passport from a country that has a mutual arrangement with Canada.
